Bespoke barn conversions are an unusual yet contemporary way of repurposing disused agricultural structures into unique residential dwellings. PC Engineering were contracted by their client to convert an old Dutch barn, previously used as a grain store, into a “dream home” with details and finishes to meet their exact specification.
The original structure was clad using tin sheeting and was a long way from being habitable. In order to create enough room to carry out the project, the barn was extended on either side and was clad entirely in profile steel sheeting. Having worked with Southern Sheeting on multiple projects, the PC Engineering team were confident we could be relied upon, ensuring the project was kept on track.

The Project
The goal of this conversion project was to turn an unused grain store into a home. The existing structure was extended and adapted to allow for more living space, with exact finishes and details to the client’s precise specification.
While there are still some internal works and finishing touches to be completed, the project has been incredibly well received. The client is impressed with the quality of the materials used. The project has attracted attention locally, with many people commenting on its progression over time, some stating a desire to complete similar conversions in the future.
This project has inspired a number of potential similar projects, and PC Engineering are confident that Southern Sheeting can support them in undertaking developments of this magnitude.
