Bison Composite Batten Cladding Colour Screw
- M4 x 35mm long
- 100 screws per bag
- Used on any visible batten clad fixings and for corners or edge boards.
How Many Colour Screw fixings will I need?
Colour screws are only required for visible fixings. With cladding planks this is usually just the last run of boards in the run either vertically or horizontally. With L Corners or edge boards colour screws should be at 400mm centres (so allow 7 per full length).
Should I pre-drill holes when fixing composite slatted cladding?
Yes, you should always predrill a pilot holes in any composite material where you are fixing within 30mm from the edge of the material to avoid cracking that can occur under stress of expansion and contraction.
Can I use colour head screws for the main fixings?
Thew colour head screws are 35mm long and whilst they can be used for main fixings, it is important to ensure you are using deep enough joists to allow for 30mm purchase (colour head screws are not suitable for a 25mm timber batten). Also note that most main fixings are not seen due to the hidden lap detail, using a colour head screw is a more expensive option than lain screws.
